A place you might not want to Shop!

And a Happy Ending!

A visitor to this website related the following problem:   Please accept my apology for writing to you with my problem, but
I do not know where to turn.  During our visit to Deruta,  on September 30, 2003,we purchased several items from Ceramiche Fanny on Piazza Dei Consoli, 11-28 , Tel.
972-4116, with the understanding that they would be shipped to us in the US the very next week.  We provided our credit card for the shipping, however, we were asked to pay in cash for the items we purchased.  To date, we have not received the shipment and Ceramiche Fanny does not respond to our e-mails, nor can we get our faxes through.  Would you be so kind to tell us where can we log a complain or how else can we contact this shop.
A search of the web found many similar experiences, one of which is posted opposite.

Yet another Ceramiche fanny disaster!

my husband & i went to italy for our
honeymoon in october, 2002, and bought from
ceramiche fanny. close to $1000 worth. he
promised we would have everything by
thanksgiving, and we have yet to receive it
(march, 2003). i just searched the web to
find his site, and found these other posts.
now i'm afraid we'll never see the
merchandise or our money. i tried to find
responses to the posted queries, but could
not. has anyone received an answer? does
anyone have any suggestions? has anyone
ever received their merchandize from this
business? what a terrible disappointment.

The visitor eventually got Fanny to deliver.

We finally received our ceramics from Ceramiche Fanny. I think that we were able to put so much pressure on the vendor that he finally

decided that it was best to do the right thing. I wrote to the school of ceramics in Deruta and to the shipping company that was supposed to handle our shipment.  In my e-mails, I explained our predicament and sent the web site of Epicurios, where other people complained about this company. Of course, with copies to Ceramiche Fanny who never responded. Eventually, a representative of  the school of ceramics called and gave us the name and all the information to contact the Mayor of Deruta. We wrote one more e-mail to Ceramiche Fanny telling them that we would place our complain with the Italian embassy and the Mayor of Deruta if we did not hear from them. The next day, the shippers contacted us to tell us that they had our goods. Within 3 days we received the box by express mail, which of course we had to pay.

Data that might help you if you too are having a problem.
